Shillong, July 8: Rejaul Karim Laskar, All India Congress Committee (Minority Department) Observer for Meghalaya, galand and Mizoram arrived here on Saturday for a day-long visit. Laskar called on Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma at the latter’s residence and had a “detailed and fruitful” discussion on matters relating to the Congress party’s campaign for the 2018 Assembly elections in Meghalaya and the possible role of the Minority Department in the campaign. Later in the day, Laskar paid a visit to the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians in the city. He left for Guwahati in the evening.
