Congress puts up brave face against the BJP in Parliamentary poll

A Reporter

SHILLONG: The Opposition Congress on Tuesday said that the entry of the BJP into the fray for the Parliamentary poll will not in any way affect their prospects in Meghalaya as their vote bank stands intact.

The entry of the BJP was looked at as a setback for Congress candidate Vincent Pala in the Shillong Lok Sabha seat as it would divide the non-tribal votes that constitutes a sizeable chunk of the voting percentage.

Talking to newsmen after the meeting of Congress MLAs, Rajya Sabha MP Wansuk Syiem said that it does not matter whether BJP comes or not as the vote bank of the Congress will always remain intact.
