‘Contribute to Nation Building’: Kyrmen Rymbui

Shillong: Meghalaya Minister of Education Kyrmen Rymbui on Thursday exorted the youths to use the available multiple forums to contribute to nation-building. Rymbui was speaking at the inaugural function of the State Youth Parliament, 2019, at Old Guest House, NEHU.

Addressing the gathering, Rymbui said there are numerous challenges confronting the country and the youth being the future of the country cannot shy away from their responsibilities in nation-building.

Referring to the Youth Parliament as one of those pedestal, Rymbui stated, “Such forums give the youth a platform to participate and contribute towards nation-building and the topics chosen for the day are very relevant to the present scenario of the country.” He also maintained that these type of discussions and deliberations will also enrich policy-makers.

Two of the best participants of today’s programme will represent the State in the National Youth Parliament to be organized by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs. It may be mentioned here that the district Youth Parliament in the State was held on January 28 and 15 best participants were shortlisted from the State event.
