SHILLONG: With an intension to further boost the talents of young dancers in the state the Master of Beats Dance Academy (MBDA) in collaboration with the All Meghalaya Dance Association (AMDA) will be organizing a two day Workshop on 20 and 21 this month followed by a dance competition at U Soso Tham Auditorium on December 22.

Addressing reporters here on Wednesday, AMDA president Kitbok Thabah informed that renowned choreographer Ashish Kanoujiya aka B-boy Venom from Nepal will be attending the workshop to train the youths in the art of dancing.

He also informed that anyone who wants to take part in the workshop to learn the art of dancing avail the registration form from the office of AMDA located at Motphrah at Synod Complex, however the registration will cost Rs. 500 for both the two days.

Thabah also informed that those youths who have participated in the workshop will also be receiving certificates.

“There is a need to promote the local youths of the state who has talent in dancing hence by bring in top choreographer from outside the country,” he said,

He also pointed out that many of us know how to dance but we don’t know the basic technique of dancing because the art of dancing has many categories.

“The local youths should take advantage of this workshop so that they will understand and have more knowledge of the various dance categories like hip-hop, stomping, beside others,” he said.
