Drive against illicit liquor carry out at East Khasi Hills District

The office of the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills District has been actively carrying out drives against illicit liquor/illegal sale of IMFL/Beer/Wine etc., and has conducted raids in restaurants, stalls in the town and its outskirts.

SHILLONG: The office of the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills District has been actively carrying out drives against illicit liquor/illegal sale of IMFL/Beer/Wine etc., and has conducted raids in restaurants, stalls in the town and its outskirts.

During the month of February 2023, the Excise staff detected 61 cases with a seizure of 1850.900 litres of i/d liquor and 310.955 litres IMFL. In this connection, 36 persons have been arrested under Excise Act, stated a press release.
