East Garo Hills observes World Tuberculosis Day

WILLIAMNAGAR: The Office of the District Tuberculosis Officer, East Garo Hills, observed World Tuberculosis Day at Rongjeng Reserve UP School in Rongjeng Civil Sub-Division, with this year’s theme, “Yes! We Can End TB,” as the chief guest, Ruby Balkame R Sangma, BDO, Dambo-Rongjeng Community and Rural Development Department, Block on Friday. Speaking on the occasion and dwelling on the theme, the chief guest urged the students to take care of their emotions and spiritual lives and to take care of society and the environment to shape their future.

On the day, Dr. CPM Sangma, District Tuberculosis Officer, East and North Garo Hills, delivered the keynote address. Dr. Babukan G Momin, Medical and Health officer, Rongjeng CHC, on the other hand, delivered the welcome address, stated a press release.

The others who spoke on the occasion included Vincent Sangma, principal of Rongjeng Reserve UP School. The programme was presided over by Dr. SR Marak, SM and HO, DTC, and Williamnagar, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Riksera Ch Sangma.
