Entrepreneurship meet held at St Edmund’s

SHILLONG: St Edmund’s College, Shillong, in collaboration with Biotech Park, Lucknow, on Tuesday held a teaching programme on the theme “Skill to Entrepreneurship – the Next level”. The workshop will conclude on March 15. The aim of the programme is to orient the youth to different employment opportunities, especially pointing out the benifits of self-employment. Chief guest on the occasion, Dr Abhijit Sharma, Director, Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati, in his speech said, “The start of any new form of thinking is hard. However, walking forward through the hardship can lead to a change in society. A person who starts something new must always face hardship and difficulties.” “Starting something new in this present era is much easier when compared to olden times especially with the advancement in technology,” he said. Meanwhile, guest of honour Prof Pramod Tandon, CEO Biotech Park, Lucknow, in his speech pointed out that the Northeast region is rich in its scenic beauty and natural resources. This State has many medicinal herbs hence there is a need for those studying science to research the different medicinal herbs.”
