Federation of Mawsynram Self Help Group Want BDO Reinstated

SHILLONG: The Federation of Mawsynram Self Help Group, C&RD Block, on Friday reiterated their opposition to the recent transfer of their Block Developmental Officer (BDO) EL Warjri.

“This officer had recently joined as the BDO of Mawsynram Block and we are privileged to have the first MCS as our BDO and she has brought development in a short span of time,” B Lynghoi president of the federation told reporters here. He said that the federation wants the State Government to reinstate the BDO and let her complete the tenure of three years as BDO of the block. Informing that there are around 300 self-help groups in Mawsynram, he said, “When we have any problems concerning issues like paper workers or any other thing she is always there to give a lending hand and solve the problem, hence the region is starting to develop.” When asked, he informed that soon the federation will call a meeting of the 300 self-help groups of Mawsynram to take a decision on their next step.
