FIR lodged against Sanbor Shullai for alleged misconduct in the precincts of the polling station

Shillong: An FIR was lodged against BJP candidate from Shillong Sanbor Shullai for his alleged misconduct in the precincts of the polling station. The FIR was lodged by the Returning Officer and the President Officer of Sankerdev College polling booth at Laban. The Chief Electoral Officer said a case under section 131 and 132 of the People’s Representation Act has been registered against the candidate. Asked further on the details of the incident, the CEO said, “What I could gather is that there should be no media briefing within the precincts of the polling station and off course there could be a communication gap that led to the fiasco”.
