Fix responsibility: KHNAM legislator Adelbert Nongrum

SHILLONG: KHNAM (KhunHynniewtrep National Awakening Movement) legislator from North Shillong Adelbert Nongrum has requested the State government to fix the responsibility over negligence in connection with issuing of passes for the wedding party at Greenwood Resort, Guwahati recently.

While appreciating the district administration's move in filing the FIR against the wedding attendees for violating the COVID-19 protocols, Nongrum hoped that the government will seriously follow up the FIR. He added that the district administration should also allow the law enforcer to fix the responsibility on all all persons responsible for such negligence.

According to him, the wedding party incident has led to many COVID-19 cases in the State.

Nongrum also suggested that names of COVID-19 patients should be disclosed as this would help not only the State government but also create awareness about the pandemic among the people who remain in close contact with the victims.
