Former MLA Miller Basaiawmoit flays Meghalaya Governor’s statement

SHILLONG: Former legislator Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit has condemned the statement of Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy for saying that the non-tribals in the State are like Kashmiri Pandits. “We never expected that this kind of biased and fabricated statement will come from a person who holds the highest Constitutional office in the State and reside among the peace-loving people of our beloved land,” Basaiawmoit said. Basaiawmoit, who is also the convenor of the Ïada la ka Ri (Protect the State) movement, urged the indigenous people of the State to be not provoked by such statements.
