Garo Hills observes Capt Sangma’s Death Anniversary

GUWAHATI: Along with other districts, East Garo Hills also observed the death anniversary of Capt. Williamson A Sangma, the first Chief Minister of Meghalaya, at Williamson Park in Williamnagar on Thursday with Williamnagar MLA, Marcuise N Marak as the chief guest.

Leading the people in laying floral wreaths, Marcus said that by observing his death anniversary, we show respect and love to our great leader, stated a release.

Expressing gratitude to the gathering, East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, L Ch Marak said that Capt. Sangma was a great and able leader who fought for the cause of the tribal people and urged the gathering to follow his footsteps.

Gamchi Timre R Marak, Principal of Educere Secondary School read out the life history of Capt. Sangma.
