Hindi Diwas observed in Shillong

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Hindi Prachar Parishad (MHPP) on Friday observed the ‘Hindi Diwas’ at Hotel Assembly conference hall, Shillong.

During the function around nine people from different fields were also facilitated on the occasion for excellence in education, sports, journalism and social work. The function was also graced by the Minister of Health and Family Welfare AL Hek as chief guest at the occasion.

A souvenir was also being released by the Minister during the occasion in the presence of B. Kumar president of Meghalaya Hindi Prachar Parishad Shillong, Meghalaya. Speaking at the occasion, the Minister AL Hek said, “Many wants to expand the Hindi language however most of the parents attending the function are still sending their son or daughter to an English school.” He also said that if this is the present trend in the state then how can the Hindi language be extended hence it should start form home first.
