I Am An obedient worker of the Congress, says Ampareen Lyngdoh

Staff Correspondent

Shillong: Ampareen Lyngdoh, four time Congress MLA of Meghalaya and the Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) of Mizoram, told this correspondent over phone on Saturday that she held consultations on the preparations for the by-elections to the Mizoram Legislative Assembly.

She stated, “While I am looking for my own space for the 2023 elections, yet I am still an obedient worker of the Congress party”. “I was in Mizoram and live up with the assignments given by the central leadership. Everything turned out to be good”, she stated.

Sources close to her said that she is not inclined towards the BJP but will not mind in trying to make a political front in the future. She said, “I am in touch with my own people to look beyond 2023”

A senior Congress legislator on condition of anonymity said that the opinion of the four time women legislator sounds “tricky”. He didn’t elaborate further but well placed sources said that her narrative has been taken up seriously by the State leadership.
