Indian Council of Agricultural Research organizes poll event

SHILLONG: As per the directives from the Election Commission of India, the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region organized a voter’s awareness programme in the institute. The programme was organized to sensitize the staff about the rights and duties they have in the electoral process. The programme was attended by the scientific community along with the technical and the administrative staff of the institute.

The Chief Administrative Officer of the institute, Krishna Kant Kulshreshtha while addressing the gathering emphasized on the importance of casting our votes.

He stressed on the fact that the election commission has taken various initiatives’ to spread awareness among the masses about the electoral process and the ICAR is extremely privileged in spreading and sensitizing the people about the celebration of world’s greatest and largest democracy.

Two brief presentations were conducted by Dr AK Jha, head of the division of horticulture and Dr SK Das head of the division of fisheries.
