Indian Red Cross Society, Meghalaya donates sanitizers, masks in view of COVID-19

SHILLONG: In an effort to tackle COVID-19 in Meghalaya, especially in East Khasi Hills district, which has become a hotspot for the virus with 11 active cases, the Indian Red Cross Society, Meghalaya Shillong branch, donated necessary preventive materials on Friday.

The Society headed by its chairman and former Home Minister RG Lyngdoh donated around 1,000 hand sanitizers and 35,000 face masks.

The donation was handed over to the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills district M War here.

P Chokhani, the treasurer of Red Cross and Ashok Goenka, executive member of the managing body Indian Red Cross Society, Meghalaya, presented the donation to the Deputy Commissioner.

The Society also said that may God bless all the COVID-19 warriors of the State with good health and wisdom to overcome the challenges.
