Jaintia Students Union writes to Lahkmen Rymbui on Bangla border issues

SHILLONG: The Jaintia Students Union (JSU) submitted a letter to Meghalaya Minister Lahkmen Rymbui alerting the government of the RCC structure set up by the Border Guards of Bangladesh (BGB) along the international border and also of the missing sub-pillar of border post No.1273 which is located at the Umngot River near the BSF camp site at Dawki.

The JSU had recieved information that the structure was meant as a patrol camp by the BGB.

The JSU wrote, "We are extremely concerned as to how the BSF with it's camp present at close proximity to this pillar and structure are just mute spectator and are not able to prevent the above. We also demand that the BSF should clarify immediately on their failure to act" .

The JSU led by president Eddy Kery Pohtam and general secretary Kerrydiam Lamin held talks with the Assistant Commander of BOP Dawki for clarification on the above in which he replied that the same had been taken up by to the concern authorities and all construction works of the RCC structure has been halted.
