John F Kharshiing supports Jemino Mawthoh and Agatha Sangma

Shillong: After jumping the Congress ship, John F Kharshiing has decided to extend his support to the common candidate of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) Jemino Mawthoh (Shillong) and Agatha Sangma (Tura). John F Kharshiing was the vice president of the State Congress party till last Friday. He is also the chairman of the Grand Council of Chiefs’ (a traditional body of local chieftains). Announcing his support to Mawthoh at the office of the Nationalist People’s Party (NPP) on Monday, Kharshiing stated that he has taken the decision after the people of the State started calling him to make a call in the upcoming Parliamentary elections. “I cannot be a silent spectator to the calls that have poured in from our friends from far and near from all over the State to express our views on this crucial matter,” stated Kharshiing.
