SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Vivek Syiem, on Wednesday announced a significant development in the investigation of the murder of Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi. He revealed that, based on the confession and guidance of the accused, Silom James, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) recovered a country-made pistol along with two magazines and two rounds of .32 calibre ammunition from a stream. Additionally, an amount of Rs 50,000 was recovered from James’s Hyundai i10 car (registration number MP09WG 2352). According to the police, this money was taken from Raja Raghuvanshi’s laptop bag.

SP Syiem further stated that the laptop bag had been burnt, and the laptop itself was reportedly thrown by the roadside. Despite efforts, the police have been unable to locate the device so far.

Earlier, police had mentioned that three recently arrested suspects—believed to be involved in tampering with or destroying key evidence—would be brought to Shillong on Thursday. They are expected to be presented before the court shortly thereafter.
