SHILLONG: Kuldeep Saini, Inspector General Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya retires after rendering more than 36 years of service.

He was born on September 1, 1960.

He graduated from Delhi University in Bachelor of Science, and completed his LLB from Delhi Law University in 1983. He then joined the BSF (Direct Entry) on September 17, 1984 as Assistant Commandant.

He joined the Frontier Headquarters BSF Meghalaya on January 8, 2019. Having strong vision/strategy, he decided to deal with the prevailing trans-border crimes and BSF Frontier Meghalaya; and succeeded in ensuring effective border domination and seized a sizeable goods/items (incoming and outgoing) seizure including Yaba tablets, Hemp, cattle etc. beside apprehending smugglers and illegal entrants, worth more than Rs 61 crores approximately, stated a release.

He also served at Baikantpur (West Bengal), North East (Shillong and Tripura), Kashmir Valley and Force Headquarters in various capacities. During his service, officers was conferred with five DGs CR, Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2007 and President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2015.

On the eve of his retirement while addressing the troops, he expressed his gratitude for the support he got from all the ranks and wished them success and glory. He also conveyed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the civil administration for their timely assistance in curbing the border crimes, the release added.
