Major General Bipin Bakshi takes over as ADG NCC, North East region

SHILONG: Major Gen Bipin Bakshi has assumed the appointment of ADG, NCC Dte, North East region at Shillong.

Gen Bakshi joined the Para Engineers on commissioning from IMA in June 1982, where he won the Sword of Honour and Gold Medal. He was also awarded the Gold Medal at CME Pune during the Degree Engineering Course. An alumnus of Defence Services Staff Collage and National Defence Collage, he is the recipient of Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) for his service in the Kargil Sector during Op Parakram as CO of an Engineer Regiment. He has served in the UNO as a Staff Officer in Angola during UNAVEM-III and has been an instructor in YOs Wing, CME as well as School of Artilary, Devlali. He has commanded a Engineers' regiment, a Mountain Brigade in the Eastern Theatre and an Infantry Division on the Western Border. His last appointment was Inspector General (Training) in the National Security Guard, Manesar (Haryana).
