MCIC organized Pre-Puja Get-Together at Deva Kumar Memorial Hall, Meghalaya

SHILLONG: Like earlier occasions, the Monitoring-cum-Implementation Committee (MCIC) organized the 'Pre-Durga Puja and Kali Puja Get-together of Harmony-2019', at the Deva Kumar Memorial Hall, Bishnupur, here on Saturday wherein office-bearers and members of 31 puja committees under the South Shillong Constituency attended the function.

The function commenced with a puja prayer service conducted by the committee president and MLA Sanbor Shullai. Among those who addressed the gathering were JL Das, the general secretary of the Central Puja Committee, Shillong; Naba Bhattacharjee, president of the Central Puja Committee; Anthony Marwein, secretary MCIC South Shillong; Hubert Marbaniang, BJP president of South Shillong Mandal and Santalal Sunar EC member Meghalaya BJP.

Also present were Wanlambok Khongwir vice-president Youth Wing of Meghalaya BJP; and Danny Jyrwa, social secretary MCIC South Shillong constituency. All the speakers wished the public a happy, peaceful, prosperous and blessed Durga Puja and Kali Puja.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Rajiv Deb, organizing secretary, MCIC 19th South Shillong constituency. The function concluded after the free distribution of puja materials, puja banners, food packets of sweets and snacks to the members of all the 31 puja pandals and committees.
