MDC Syiem inspects roads for black topping

SHILLONG: The MDC of Sohryngkham constituency Pyniaid Sing Syiem recently inspected two roads, one at Diengpasoh and the other at Jaroit, for black topping.

The inspection was also attended by engineers of PWD National Highway by-pass division, junior engineers, officials from the PHE department, the Sordar of DiengpasohGordan Wahlang ,besides others. After the inspection, Syiem said that the both the roads stretche about 2 km and the blacking topping of the road is needed to ease the entry and exit of the Christian faithfuls who will be organizing a service in December and the other in 2019.

“In this connection I have already sent a letter to the PWD Minister, and we expect that the road construction will start soon, maybe by next month,” he said. “However I will continue to follow up this issue with the government and with my party (UDP) as in the year 2012 I had raised the need for a district and after being elected as an MLA I had even brought the issue on the floor of the House. Since because we were not in power, nothing was done,” he said.
