Guidelines for Essential Items Selling Shops in Meghalaya: All shops selling essential items permitted to open during the Lockdown period have to close by 5:00 PM until further orders - Issued by the Government of Meghalaya.

Pharmacies and Pharmaceuticals will open as per existing order. Petrol Pumps are permitted to open till 10 PM. The Police of Meghalaya will take measures to ensure that these guidelines are followed, and people who disobey will be strongly punished and heavily fined. 

Meghalaya recorded over 300 COVID cases yesterday, taking the total active case tally up to 3,276. There have been 270 deaths recorded in Meghalaya so far. The cases in Meghalaya are increasing rapidly, even after strict rules and guidelines issued by the Government. It is vital that the citizens of Meghalaya strictly follow the rules to prevent a medical crisis. Keeping in mind the current situation, the Meghalaya Government has also extended the lockdown by a week. This is a complete lockdown; anyone violating it will be fined. 

Meanwhile, in the whole of India, more than 3,50,000 cases were recorded taking the total novel coronavirus cases in the country to 2,40,60,000 cases. The active cases are more than 37,00,000. With the case graph going up almost vertically every day, we must strictly follow the rules and guidelines set by our State Governments and the Government of India. 

More than 4,000 deaths were recorded in the country taking the total death toll up to a frightening amount, 2,62,375. The number of recoveries in our country so far is over 2,00,75,000. 

3,50,000 people were vaccinated yesterday, taking the total number of vaccine doses administered to 1,13,446. As more and more vaccines are being produced, vaccinations are happening more and more.
