SHILLONG: A total of 3,857 students of Class-XII in Meghalaya will be appearing in the remaining four subjects beginning from Monday. The HSSLC examinations for Class-XII students will be held on June 8, 9 and 10. The examinations had to be put off after the nationwide lockdown on March 24.

The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) will conduct the exams for Mathematic, Statistics, Western Music and Physical Education in 62 centres across the State.

Authorities from the State's Education department informed that there are 3,772 students appearing for Mathematics, 49 for Physical Education, 28 for Western Music and eight for Statistics. There are also students from foreign countries like Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar and Bangladesh, who will be appearing for the examinations.

"We have taken all the heath safety measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations in view of the COVID-19 pandemic," the official said. He added that the teachers and other staff conducting the exams have been trained to follow the Standard of Procedures (SoPs) and protocols issued by the Health and Family Welfare department.

"Student's appearing for the exams will be screened before entering the examination halls; and those found with temperatures will be accommodated in another room to write their exams," the official pointed out.
