Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma lauds PM Modi’s Move to Reach out to Masses

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his moves to reach out the development schemes for the masses. Speaking at a function to mark the launching of the Samajik Adhikarita Shivir, aids and assistive devices distribution camp for the different abled people under the ‘Assistance to Disabled Person’ scheme here on Thursday, Chief Minister Sangma stated, “In two days time, 7000 disabled people will be benefited from the funds of the Centre and this has brought a sense of satisfaction to us.”

Referring to the Union Minister T Gehlot who is heading the Union Ministry of Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Sangma stated, “Our Prime Minister clearly shows the vision, the objectives and the desire to make the government inclusive.”

The NPP leader and Chief Minister of Meghalaya further said, “Our honorable Prime Minister wants that every citizen should add value to the family, the society and the nation.”

Chief Minister Sangma in the course of his speech also said that various schemes for the disabled in the State had not been implemented in the State. “During the meetings in the past two to three months, our government is aware that implementation of such schemes meant for the persons with disability is not in the true letter and spirit,” he said, adding: “The present government will put things in place”. It may be mentioned that the NPP is a part of the NDA.
