SHILLONG: The Delhi Police North East Representative and Convener of National Volunteers of the State of Meghalaya against COVID-19, Daniel Stone Lyngdoh suggested some measures to the State government regarding security for buses that will be transporting stranded Meghalaya residents from the national capital as well as other States.

Lyngdoh stated that it would be unwise on the part of the State government if they were unable to make the efforts suggested by him as the buses would pass through many nights along the way.

"During the past few days, there have been buses that met with accidents on the way before reaching the State. The buses will be travelling late nights through different States which have high crime records and if security wasn't provided, they might become a target for miscreants," he stated.

In order to ensure the security of all the passengers, he suggested that there should be mandatory security provisions.

"Inform the Khasi Students' Union, the Garo Students' Union and especially, the National Volunteers for State of Meghalaya against World COVID-19 if anyone encounters problems," he said.
