SHILLONG: Meghalaya, on Tuesday, recorded one more COVID-19 death, 85 new cases and 283 new recoveries. With the new casualty, the State's toll tally stands at 102. The number of active cases is now 734; and the total number of recoveries are 9,955, informed Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War.

The deceased, Timish B Marak (65) of Dobasipara, Tura was admitted in Tura Civil Hospital on November 15 and tested positive for Covid the same day. She expired of COVID-19 Pneumonia at 3 am on November 17.

Of the 85 new cases, 46 (Armed & paramilitary forces: six; civilians: 40) were recorded in East Khasi Hills; 18 in West Garo Hills; 14 (Armed & paramilitary forces: one; civilians: 13) in South West Garo Hills; two each in East Garo Hills, South Garo Hills and Ri-Bhoi; and one in East Jaintia Hills.

Of the new recoveries recorded, 172 (Armed & paramilitary forces: two; civilians: 170) were in Ri-Bhoi; 64 (Armed & paramilitary forces: one; civilians: 63) in East Khasi Hills; 15 in South Garo Hills; 14 in West Jaintia Hills; eight in South West Garo Hills; four in West Garo Hills; three in East Jaintia Hills; two in East Garo Hills; and one in West Khasi Hills.

Of the 2, 23, 084 persons tested for COVID till date, a total of 2, 12, 293 persons tested negative. Dr. War also informed that 59, 626 persons have entered the State till date.
