SHILLONG: Meghalaya reported 164 new COVID-19 positive cases while 26 patients recovered from the viral infection on Thursday. With 164 new cases, the total COVID-19 cases to 5,802 which include 1,750 active cases, 4001 persons who have recovered, and 51 deaths.

The new cases were 86 from East Khasi Hills district, 56 from Ri Bhoi, 13 from West Garo Hills, 04 from West Jaintia Hills, 03 from East Jaiñtia Hills, one each from South Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills district.

The 26 patients who have recovered on Thursday include 17 from East Khasi, 05 from Ri Bhoi, 03 from West Garo Hills district and one from West Jaintia hills district.

East Khasi Hills district recorded the highest number of active cases with 1,118 (52 Armed Forces/Paramilitary forces, and 1,066 others), 216 in East Jaiñtia Hills district, 173 in West Garo Hills district, Ri Bhoi 154 (05 Armed Forces/Paramilitary forces, and 149 others), West Khasi Hills 09 , South West Khasi hills 05, West Jaintia Hills 15, South West Garo hills 22, South Garo Hills 03, East Garo Hills 11 and in North Garo Hills 24.
