SHILLONG: Amid concerns over law and order, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is on alert, maintaining a constant presence in Shillong and its surrounding areas.

Sunil Kumar Savita, Commandant of the 67 Battalion CRPF, reaffirmed the force’s unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order and monitoring the situation.

“The CRPF is deployed 24 hours in and around Shillong city. We are ready. As of now, though there are no serious inputs, we are always standing by to establish the law of the land,” he said.

Emphasizing the CRPF’s role in upholding peace and security, the commandant added, “To establish peace, tranquility, and the law of the land, CRPF is ready. It stands 24 hours for the sake of common people to establish fraternity.”

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of Holi celebrations at the 67 Battalion, Savita highlighted the camaraderie within the force as officers, jawans, and their families came together to celebrate the festival with enthusiasm.
