Meghalaya Democratic Alliance is ‘Bankrupt’: L Feleiro

Staff Correspondent

Shillong: All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in-charge of the Northeast L Feleiro has termed the present Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) dispensation as “bankrupt”. The allegations were made during Monday’s launch of the Congress agitation against the NDA government. The NPP which is leading the coalition government in the State is part of the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), a conglomerate political body under the ambit of the NDA. While taking cudgels against the NDA regime for its alleged flaws in policymaking, the AICC general secretary cited Meghalaya as a State which is virtually bankrupt due its allegiances with the NDA.

“We thought that the NEDA will be a body to facilitate bailing out Meghalaya from the financial crunch. But look at the affairs of the two district councils in the State,” said L Feleiro.

He said that the present dispensation has an impaired agenda that has been fused by inducement politics and push to annihilate the people of the Northeast.
