According to reports, Mohendro Rapsang is a candidate for the National People’s Party of Meghalaya. He was taking part in an election-related meeting at the Narsingh Akhara to rally support ahead of the assembly polls.

Mohendro Rapsang is the National People’s Party candidate for the West Shillong constituency of the Meghalaya Assembly. Paul Lyndoh will represent the United Democratic Party while Ernest Mawrie is the candidate for the Bharatiya Janata Party of this assembly seat.

The voting for the 60-member Meghalaya Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 27. With less than ten days left for the voting, all participating parties have stepped on the pedal for the election campaigning. Bharatiya Janata Party president Jagat Prakash Nadda announced the election manifesto for the state a few days back. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took part in a political rally in Meghalaya wherein he blamed the National People’s Party for the high level of corruption in the state. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also campaigned for multiple candidates of his party for the upcoming assembly polls in Meghalaya.

The Indian National Congress also took a dig on the National People’s Party over corruption and the Bharatiya Janata Party for giving a party ticket to Bernard Marak to contest in the upcoming polls after he was arrested for allegedly running a prostitution racket in the state although he received bail for the same.
