SHILLONG: Meghalaya recorded four more COVID-19 deaths on Sunday taking the total number of fatalities to 780.

Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War informed that of the four deaths, East Khasi Hills recorded three and South West Garo Hills one.

The State also recorded 390 new infections and 542 new recovered cases. With the latest figures, the State now has 4,587 active cases and 39,919 have so far recovered from the virus.

Of the 390 new cases, East Khasi Hills recorded 134, Ri-Bhoi (80), West Jaintia Hills (50), West Garo Hills (49), North Garo Hills (28), East Garo Hills (19), West Khasi Hills (14), East Jaintia Hills (eight), South West Khasi Hills (five) and South West Garo Hills (three).

The district-wise distribution of active cases are East Khasi Hills 1503, West Garo Hills 728, West Jaintia Hills 582, Ri-Bhoi 492, South West Khasi Hills 284, East Garo Hills 231, North Garo Hills 221, South West Garo Hills 198, South Garo Hills 143, West Khasi Hills 130 and East Jaintia Hills 75.
