Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy visits East Garo Hills

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy, in his maiden visit to East Garo Hills, reviewed the implementation of various government schemes and interacted with the senior citizens at Williamnagar Circuit House on February 19.

Interacting with government officials, the Governor said the future of Meghalaya lies in tourism. He also informed that the Simsang river in Garo Hills has huge hydro-power potential and suggested that the State should initiate steps for more power generation with the help of the agencies like NEEPCO.
