SHILLONG : Meghalaya High Court grants bail to BJP leader Bernard N Marak in relation to alleged case of rape of a three-year-old girl at his farmhouse in the West Garo Hills district. The bail order was passed on Monday 15th November, as a result of Justice W Diengdoh's observation on the case.

The BJP leader was directed not to leave the state or the country, and was asked report to the investigation team whenever needed.

Marak's brother, Tingku N Marak has filed a bail petition on which the court stated that, the BJP leader was not found with the girl during the raid at his farmhouse, and just because he owns the place that does not point to the fact that he is the main offender.
