SHILLONG: Amidst the rise of COVID-19 cases in the State, the Meghalaya government on Thursday identified 71 clusters that will have to go for a random Antigen tests.This was disclosed by the Deputy Chief Minister Prestone during a press briefing here on Thursday.

Stating that the decision was arrived at after inputs from the officials of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Deputy CM Tynsong said that the areas are those which are susceptible to the spread of the disease, which is already close to the 500 mark.

Today itself, 19 positive cases was reported taking the number of cases to 448. Of the new cases, while 15 are BSF personnel, three cases have been reported from West Garo Hills and one from South west Garo Hills. Of the 375 active cases in East Khasi Hills district alone, 281 are from the BSF.

There have been 82 recoveries till date.
