SHILLONG: Meghalaya has recorded 1400 Covid-19 deaths since the pandemic started. Meanwhile, health authorities informed that on Wednesday, the state three more fatalities. Of the three deaths, all were not vaccinated. Of the three deaths, two were recorded in East Khasi Hills district and one in South West Khasi Hills district. The state also recorded 169 new infections and 166 recovered from the virus. With the latest figures, the state now has 1693 active cases and 78068 have recovered from the virus. Of the 169 new infections, East Khasi Hills district recorded 95, West Khasi Hills district 40, Ri-Bhoi district 20, West Jaintia Hills district six, East Jaintia Hills district three, South West Khasi Hills district and West Garo Hills district two each and East Garo Hills district one.

The district-wise distribution of active cases are – East Khasi Hills district which remains the most affected with 828, West Khasi Hills district 374, Ri-Bhoi district 207, West Jaintia Hills district 175, South West Khasi Hills district 44, West Garo Hills district 28, East Jaintia Hills district 22, East Garo Hills district six, South West Garo Hills district five and North Garo Hills district and South Garo Hills district two.
