SHILLONG: A number of new regulations have been passed by the Meghalaya Cabinet led by Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and it aims to solve important challenges in a number of different areas.
The Meghalaya Health Services (Academic) Rules, 2024, which seeks to standardize hiring practices for academic posts in medical institutes, is one of the noteworthy approvals.
In order to facilitate the seamless operationalization of medical institutions, including the Shillong Medical College, whose operations are still pending, the new regulations were created. The Meghalaya Dental Health Service Rules, which were adopted by the Cabinet, also intend to speed up long-delayed tasks including hiring, promotions, and service conditions for dental practitioners working for the state government.
The approval of the Meghalaya Journalists Welfare Scheme, 2024, is another noteworthy step. It is anticipated that this plan will help the state's journalists.
Additionally, as part of the Meghalaya Model for Administration Reforms, Chief Minister Sangma met with officials to discuss the proposed Blockchain-Based Meghalaya Human Resource Information Network (MHRIN).
