

SHILLONG: North East Japan Caravan 2023, a three-day programme, will be organized in the U Soso Tham Auditorium in Shillong from November 17 to 19. There will be various events that will enhance the programme. There will also be a screening of four award-winning anime movies.
The inauguration programme will be on November 17, which will be addressed by the officials of the ICCR North East Zone, the Embassy of Japan, the Japan Foundation New Delhi, and the Meghalaya Government. After the inauguration, there will be a series of programmes that include Judo and Karate demonstrations and workshops by the Meghalaya Judo Association and All Meghalaya Karate Association, as well as an anime film screening of Ride Your Wave.
Again, on November 18, there will be workshops for students to introduce Japanese culture through activities like quizzes and hiragana-karuta cards, following the anime film screening of Penguin Highway, followed by a cosplay lecture, sessions on trying Yukata (traditional Japanese clothing), calligraphy and origami sessions, and the anime film screening of Okko's Inn.
On November 19, there will be sessions on trying Yukata (traditional Japanese clothing), calligraphy, and origami, followed by workshops on Japanese culture and an anime film screening of Children of the Sea, stated a press release.
