Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) To Continue Stir Against CAB

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) president Richard Marak said that it will not stop the fight against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

Marak also said that the MPYC will expose the lies being put out on social media by certain people.

The MPYC president was reacting to Hayithung Bill Lotha, BJP’s National Secretary, ST Morcha, praising, Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, who Lotha believes has been instrumental in stalling the controversial Bill in the Rajya Sabha.

The BJP’s National Secretary, ST Morcha had also hailed Conrad as an “iconic NE hero”.

“Looks very much like a paid PR stunt to save face for all the fiasco that Conrad Sangma has been facing recently regarding his lip service protest against the CAB of his political masters,” Marak said.

The MPYC president also said that all have seen Conrad being rendered inconsequential in the BJP’s greater scheme of things.

“… in the way he has been only using empty self publicised threats with no action and the way he and his buddies were ignored the last time they went to meet the Prime Minister,” he added.

The MPYC president also said that after Lotha praised Conrad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared in Jammu on February 3 that the BJP was committed to the Bill and then the BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav also informed that it will be placed for approval in the Rajya Sabha as a supplementary bill.

Marak also mocked Conrad for being ignored and not getting an audience with the Prime Minister. “It is a major failure. The people of Meghalaya and the North East are not fools. While the puppets indulge in drama, others are working overtime to make sure that this Bill is scrapped. And so are we and we stand with them and will always fight against anti-Indian, anti-people elements like the BJP and their puppets,” the MPYC president said.
