SHILLONG: The number of COVID-19 active cases in Meghalaya has again crossed the 1000 mark after the number of active cases outnumbered the recoveries in the last couple of days.

As per the bulletin of the Health department, on Sunday the State recorded 155 fresh cases and 116 recovered from the virus.

With this the number of active cases has now gone upto 1,034 and the total recovered cases stands at 9,075. Ri-Bhoi has the largest number of active cases with 313 cases and East Khasi Hills has 302.

Of the fresh cases recorded on Sunday, 69 are from East Khasi Hills, 61 from Ri-Bhoi, 11 from West Garo Hills, seven from East Garo Hills, five from South Garo Hills and two from West Jaintia Hills.

Of the 116 recovered cases, 30 are from West Garo Hills; 29 from Ri-Bhoi; 27 from East Khasi Hills; 13 from East Garo Hills; eight from South Garo Hills; seven from West Jaintia Hills; one each from South West Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills.
