SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Thursday registered 61 new COVID-19 cases, which further decreased the tally of active cases to 516, the health department said in a bulletin. Meanwhile, the State also recorded 51 new recovered cases in last 24 hours and with this, the total recovered cases has reached 81,562.

One person succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, taking total number of fatalities from COVID-19 infection to 1,449 so far. East Khasi Hills has 317 active case, West Khasi Hills 97 case, West Jaintia Hills 37, Ri Bhoi 29, West Garo Hills 11, South West Khasi Hills 4, East Jaintia Hills 4, East Garo Hills 9, North Garo Hills 2, South West Garo Hills 4 and South Garo Hills 2.
