Guwahati: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today informed that the state currently has 633 active cases of the coronavirus disease; a rise of 28 cases in yesterday. 5 persons in the state have so far died from the infection.

Out of the 28 fresh cases registered today, 22 were detected among BSF personnel. These numbers are in line with the overall rise in the coronavirus curve in the state since the easing of the lockdown restrictions in Shillong and the re-opening of the border checkpoints.

Posting a tweet earlier in the evening today, Sangma wrote that out of the 633 positive cases of the coronavirus, 297 cases have been found among the BSF and other security personnel. 328 other cases have been found among civilians.

The state has so far recorded 264 recoveries. An impressive number, by all accounts, but far less than the national average.
