Meghalaya: Three Injured In Shillong After Masked Miscreants Go On Rampage

SHILLONG: In an unfortunate incident on Thursday 20 January at least three people in Meghalaya's capital city Shillong have sustained severe injuries following a rampage of masked miscreants.

As the masked miscreants went on a violent rampage, they started attacking people with pointed sharp weapons causing serious injuries.

The incident took place on Thursday in an area close to the Lumdiengiri police station located in Shillong.

The three injured individuals were identified as Chandan Paul of 55 years old, Abdul Choudhury of 38 years old and Nojrul Mullah of 30 years old.

One of the victims Chandan Paul was allegedly stabbed from behind by a masked miscreant which resulted in extreme blood flow. He was immediately taken to near Hospital and later admitted to Shillong Civil Hospital for undergoing medical treatment.

According to reports Paul is a shopkeeper in Shillong and was engaged with his work while he was attacked by the masked miscreants.

The other two victims Nojrul Mullah and Abdul Choudhury sustaining injuries from sharp weapons are both residents of the Garikhana location in the Shillong metropolis.

The non-tribal family members of the injured people requested the government of Meghalaya to take strict action against all those miscreants involved in the brutal attack in Shillong.

Ruma Paul, the sister of the victim Chandan Paul who is also a resident of Shillong stated that they are permanent residents of Meghalaya but still had to face such attacks again and again. She further said that the Meghalaya government must act accordingly in the matter and take adequate measures to stop such attacks on people.

Meanwhile, a detailed investigation has been initiated by the Shillong police over the incident to find out the miscreants.

But till now no person has been arrested by the police in relation to the case and no one apprehended for involvement in the attacks of Thursday.
