STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI: The Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teachers Association (MUPSTA) has submitted a complaint to the Director School Education and Literacy (DSEL) Shillong against the school management committees for deducting teachers' salary ranging from Rs.500 to Rs 6000 per teacher per month.

The Association in its complaint urged the Director to direct the Sub-Divisional School Education Officers (SDSEO) to caution the school management committees to immediately stop the practice. "The Association will follow up with a legal notice if the management continues to carry on such unfair means," stated a release.

The Association has further requested all the upper primary school teachers to come forward and inform MUPSTA about their problems so that the Association can take up their issues, stated the release issued by EG War, the organizing-cum-publicity secretary of MUPSTA.
