Shillong: Minister of State, Ministry of Women & Child Development, Dr. Virendra Kumar called on Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Thursday at the latter’s office. During the short meeting the Union Minister held discussions to assess the status of various programs and projects under the Ministry of Women and Child Development, being implemented in the State. The Chief Minister apprised the Union Minister of the initiatives being taken by the government, through the concerned departments, for effective implementation of the welfare measures meant for the people in Meghalaya. “The programs are being monitored on a regular basis to ensure that projects are completed in a time-bound manner”, he told the Union Minister. The Union Minister will embark on scheduled field visits during his stay in Shillong.
