MLA Sanbor Shullai lays foundation for community hall at Lum Mawnei, Shillong

SHILLONG: The local MLA of South Shillong Constituency Sanbor Shullai on Saturday laid the foundation stone for the construction of a community hall for the village dorbar of Lower Lumparing at Lum Mawnei.

The local MLA also handed over the work order for the construction of the community hall to the executive members of the dorbar. The construction of the community hall was a long pending wish of the people of the area, however through the efforts and seriousness shown by the local MDC Ricky Shullai the aspiration of the people was fulfilled.

The community hall will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 15 lakh from the scheme availed by Ricky Shullai from the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC). In this connection, the executive members of the dorbar and the local residents of Lower Lumparing have expressed their apparition towards both the local MDC and MLA of the constituency. Speaking at the function, Sanbor Shullai, lauded the efforts and capability of Ricky Shullai who in just a short span of time of about 2 years as an MDC was able to bring many developmental programs and schemes in the constituency. “When the people have elected us to represent their constituency it is our duty to address the problems faced by the people in the constituency and to bring about a change by flushing various developmental schemes into the constituency,” he said. Pointing out the the MDC election is around the corner (2019), Sanbor said, “The people should utilize their wisdom while selecting their candidate of choice to vote and not to fall prey to false propaganda during election time.”

Meanwhile, local MDC of the constituency Ricky Shullai said that his ability to bring about various developmental scheme in the constituency is through the guidance of Sanbor Shullai. “I have been with Sanbor for the past 12 years and he has shown me the ropes on how to strive and work for the welfare of the people and appease their needs and solve their problems,” he said.
