MNREGA JOB Release wages: JSU president Dapmain Suchiang to BDO

SHILLONG: The president of Laskein Block Circle of JSU, Dapmain Suchiang on Thursday said, "We demand the BDO to implement the guidelines of the MNREGA. The official must ensure that the wages of all job card holders are directly deposited in their respective bank accounts."

Suchiang further said that if the BDO fails to do so, the Union will be compelled to file a complaint before the authorities concerned and demand a probe into the alleged violation of the MNREGA guidelines.

He informed that a JSU delegation had earlier met the BDO to discuss the issue. "However, no action has been taken till today," he added.

According to him, many job card holders have complained of "irregularities in the implementation of the scheme including release of their wages".
