‘National Parties Should Have No Room In ADCs’ Says Allantry F Dkhar

SHILLONG: The vice-president of United Democratic Party (UDP), Allantry F Dkhar has said that national parties like the Congress and the BJP should not have a place in the autonomous district councils (ADCs).

“The ADCs are meant for tribals. How does a national party speak of a specific tribe’s interest as against the nation,” Dkhar posed before media persons here on Sunday? The UDP vice-president also asked, “How can the national parties have a role to play in the district councils that represent the interest of a particular tribe?”
