National People’s Party regains Selsella Assembly seat defeating Congress

Shillong: The National People’s Party (NPP) has regained the Selsella Assembly seat after its candidate Ferlin C Sangma defeated her nearest rival June Eliana Marak of the Congress by a margin of 4,396 votes. The seat fell vacant after the death of Congress MLA Clement Marak. The victory means that the NPP has further added to its tally in the 60-member State Assembly increasing it to 21.
